Do you edit all your photographs?
Yes, I do. Every image that you receive has been hand-edited, one at a time.
Do we get to keep negatives?
I provide the selected, edited high resolution digital files (the digital equivalent of negatives). I do retain the copyright to the images and the right to use them for promotional purposes, competitions, professional review and so on. If you need I’m glad to provide you with written release that will allow you to make unlimited personal reproductions and copies.
Do we get the copyright of the images?
Copyright means that I’m the creator of the images. Copyright transfers are not possible, but you’ll have the ability to print and share your images as much as you’d like.
Can we see the photos that don’t turn out?
I only release images that I consider credible and professional, so images with unflattering facials, closed eyes, duplicates etc will not be shown and are removed from my archives.
How long should we wait to see our photos?
Within two weeks after a photo session.
What kind of equipment do you use?
I use top of the line professional Nikon equipment and extensive backups. I love gear. It helps me to provide my client with the best quality images.
Do you have a studio?
Yes, I do. I use it for newborn session and individual portraits only. It’s not fitted for group session (family and children photography).
What is the ‘online gallery’?
The online gallery is private, password protected section on my website where all of your photographs will be placed for you, your family and friends to view. All you have to do is provide the password to anyone who you want to be able to view the images. It’s also the way we deliver your digital files. You’ll have a download option with a PIN, and can be downloading the second you receive the gallery.
What to wear for the session?
Coordinate and compliment but not matchy-matchy. Start with a basic color palette and go from there.
Accessorize, add color and interest. Scarves, hats, flowers in the hair for girls, sweaters, vests, jackets, etc – all these things can take image and make it feel “complete”.
Layers and textures add details and depth. They are lovely and create interest in photos. It can be done beautifully with colorful brights or just pops of color here and there as well.
Subtle props enhance and add meaning. Think about props that blend with the vibe of the session as well, but keep them simple and meaningful.
Shoes matter. Please don’t wear Sneakers – unless we are talking about some funky Converse that go with the feel of the session. Slipping on a pair of hip, distressed boots or some colorful ballet flats can tie everything together and complete the feel of the session.
Pattern are good in moderation. Patterns can add visual interest and texture as well as a good dose of personality.
Think about your location and make sure your wardrobe complements with surroundings.
Keeping a timeless look extends the life of photos.
